Dutch Carmelite Raphael Tijhuis, O. Carm. was arrested on July 25, 1940 by the Gestapo and spent the next five years at three different concentration camps, ending up in Dachau, from which he was liberated on April 29, 1945. In this book, shares his story, including his time spent with Bl. Titus Brandsma. His first-hand account is as much a story of faith as it is a personal story of the horrors and atrocities experienced in the Holocaust.
